Linkery Pigs at NZ Ranch in the Edna Valley

It took us a while, but we have our first exclusive pig farm. Jim and Margaret Neville of NZ Ranch in the Edna Valley (a wine region just outside of San Luis Obispo, the same wine region where Tolosa Pinot Noir is grown) are raising a couple Hampshire breed pigs for us on their beautiful property.

I stopped by and visited the Nevilles and our pigs last weekend. The pigs are about 3 months old, they’ll probably be at market weight in October or so. Jim told me the hogs “have been eating grains, alfalfa, zucchini, and occasional meals left over from dinner.” I also heard a rumor that Margaret gives them bottled water when it gets really hot.
