Loading ...It’s been over two years since Wes of North Park Native Plants installed a native plant garden in my front yard at home. At the time, he told me it wouldn’t really take hold for a while, as every year’s rains would help the garden mature.
Well, after a couple years of nice rainy winters it is really beautiful, a treat to see every morning. I never really appreciated how many shades of green there are until seeing a garden like this!
Do you know what kind the yellow one is? Is it a sage? Re-doing my front yard in natives right now, and I love sages! I found a really pretty one with red flowers, but don’t think I’ve seen a yellow one…

The plant with the yellow flowers is Bladderpod, or ismoeris arborea. It is one of the few natives that will flower more than once a year, and is extremely drought tolerant.
